Abstract
The Vietnamese traditional performing arts (TPA), particularly those in Quảng Ninh province, concentrate around traditional folk music and theater and traditional dance performances. These types of arts were created, practiced, and fostered by our forefathers through thousands of years of history, which are combined with the characteristics of geographical locations and regional culture in this province. There have been domestic and international scientific research efforts on the conservation and promotion of Vietnamese TPA from various approaches, and these efforts have achieved significant results. However, Quảng Ninh’s TPA in particular needs to have an expanded interdisciplinary approach; the use of digital technology is a solution that has been successfully applied and implemented by many countries.
Through a case study in Quảng Ninh, the author has found that digitals such as 3D (digitalization for traditional costume, performing places, scan the musical instruments, dance movements); 360 (digitalization for process performing of music and folk dances); Slow motion (digitalization for musical melodies, process creating the musical instruments, process teaching a folk song or playing a musical instrument and other historical materials) what play a crucial role in preserving, administering, and promoting the local TPA heritage in contemporary cultural life
