Accuracy of Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate Equations in Potential Vietnamese Living Kidney Donors

This study evaluates the accuracy of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) equations in potential Vietnamese living kidney donors by comparing them with measured GFR using scintigraphy. Various equations, including MDRD, CKD-EPI creatinine, cystatin C, and combined equations, were assessed. The results show that CKD-EPI equations based on creatinine and cystatin C provide the best accuracy, with low bias and narrow limits of agreement. The findings suggest that CKD-EPI equations are reliable tools for assessing kidney function in living donor screening and can support clinical decision-making in transplantation practices in Vietnam.
