Preserve and promote the beauty of old saigon culture in development

Today, Ho Chi Minh City’s development pace has brought challenges in preserving the heritage and local culture. Many of them are slowly disappeared or damaged. Therefore, it is necessary to find solutions to preserve and promote these values in everyday life, to build the modern city without losing its cultural soul in the past, creating a modern community without losing its character. That requires many efforts because heritage and culture always face many devastating impacts such as climate change, economic development needs, commercial choices, financial and unconscious human activities.
With the approach and research method based on technological solutions, this article aims to outline a breakthrough effort such as: finding and proposing to create an Old Saigon cultural space that exists in the present; building models by using virtual-reality technology (and applying AI) towards cultural experiences in digital space as well as easily connect to the landscape system, the cultural beauty which still present in life. From there, increasing the interest and attachment to traditional culture in the community, creating a sustainable basis for preserving and promoting culture in the digital era, so that the past is valuable, not to become a pressure for the present. Then, the beauty of the old Saigon culture will naturally be respected during the development of Ho Chi Minh City
