In Vietnam, studies on medication use behaviours in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) mainly focus on measuring compliance and identifying related factors. However, there is still a lack of in-depth research around the barriers to COPD medication use. The objective of the study was to assess barriers to medication use and associated factors in patients with COPD. Materials and methods. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 216 COPD patients in a public hospital in Vietnam from February to April 2025. The Vietnamese questionnaire comprised 14 items grounded in the COM-B framework, developed from literature and expert consultation, and evaluated on a 5-point Likert scale.
